Choosing Your Roof Type

Choose the option that describes the exterior roof surface where the Solatube collector will be installed.

Sloped/Pitched Roof

A roof surface with a noticeable angle or slope, such as many asphalt-shingle, tile, or sloped metal roofs.

Flat/No-Pitch Roof

A roof that appears flat or has only a slight drainage slope, including many membrane or built-up roof systems.

Important: Choose based on the exterior roof surface, not the ceiling inside the room. If you are unsure, confirm your roof type with your installer before ordering.

Choosing Your Roof Covering

Choose the option that matches the material covering the outside of your roof where the Solatube will be installed.

Flat Roof

Select this for a flat or nearly flat roof finished with a continuous membrane such as EPDM, bitumen, or PVC.

Profiled Tile Roof

Select this for a sloped roof covered with overlapping clay or concrete tiles that create a raised or wavy profile.

Important: Look at the roof covering at the planned installation point. Roof pitch alone does not determine this choice. If you are unsure, confirm the material with your installer before ordering.

Choosing Your Roof Tile Type

Choose the option that matches the shape of the tiles or slate at the planned installation point.

High Profile Tile

Select this for pantiles, S-shaped tiles, or other raised and wavy clay or concrete tiles with noticeable ridges and troughs.

Flat Tile or Slate

Select this for flat interlocking tiles, plain tiles, or natural slate that creates a relatively even roof surface.

Important: Choose by the shape of the roof covering, not the roof pitch. “Flat Tile or Slate” does not mean a flat membrane roof. If your roof uses EPDM, bitumen, PVC, or another membrane, confirm the correct flashing with your installer before ordering.

Description

The natural effect lens is a protective system seal and provides additional insulation to the ceiling diffuser.

The lens is manufactured from polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and is classified as ( EN 13501‐1 ) is : B‐s1, d0 in reaction to fire.
